Students at SES are involved in many different activities. Each week students rotate between the following classes:

  • Music
  • PE/Health
  • Computer Lab
  • Technology

These classes last 50 minutes each day.

CLUBS: In these clubs, students learn the values of volunteering and community service as well as having chances to attend conferences.

Fifth grade students are all members of 4-H. The meet in their classes monthly and are invited to participate in all of the Cloverleaf activities that 4-H offers, including Mini-Fairbooth projects and DPA.

 Junior Beta
Fifth grade students maintaining an A average can join Junior Beta.  Beta students have fundraisers during the year to help provide community service in the school, and they participate in the State Convention in the fall.

Chess Club
We have an active chess club at SES. About 30 students come to the Media Center after school to learn how to play chess. About 20 of these students have participated in the ORSCA (Ogeechee River Scholastic Chess Association) Tournaments in Statesboro.

Our tournament dates for the 2015-2016 school year are:

September 19
November 14
January 16
March 5

Special Thanks to our Coaches Mike Lisenby and Jay Youngblood and to the Exchange Club of Swainsboro for helping to sponsor the club. Without them, none of the club activities would be possible.
